My Challenges Faced

When our group decide to make a website we never really thought about how much dedication and commitment it would take to create our vision using Wix. We had to learn how to use the website, and sometime I even had to practice at home to be able to someday publish our project to the world. The biggest challenges that I have faced so far in our project has been, organizing the website and finding the right template to then start adding in our   makeup selections. The first template I had started with was one that would allow the people to buy the product, this wasn't what we were looking for because in our project we only promote the makeup and not sell it. The work that I had done I had to delete and find a different template and figure out how to then manage the template and add the products we wanted. Since we have a lot of products to promote it will be a challenge to add the information because it will take time and a lot of perseverance. Managing a website was a lot harder than we expected, it takes a lot of commitment and effort especially since our project is based on lots of research and organization. Another major challenge is being able to agree on how the website will look. A big part of our website is its appearance to our viewers, we want to be able to deliver a well presented website that we all approves off, which sometimes involves disagreeing but soon we all decide to  a compromise.

The experience that I took from this challenge is perseverance, organization, Collaboration and patience.

Perseverance: This is something that our group has to work with a lot we need to be able to get as much done in just 80min. Managing and specially making a website requires a lot of perseverance.

Organization: I feel like when we first started our website I  struggle with being organized, now we use a calendar and sometimes set goals on how much we are going to get done each class.

Patience: Making a website requires a lot of patience in order to get everything done. Editing is quite hard and it takes a lot of time, this is why in order to have an amazing final result we needed to have lost of patience to finish this project.

Collaboration: Working as a group for me is a challenge, agreeing and sometimes working together is hard, but in the end I have learned how to collaborate with my group and compromise while still thinking about our final project and our goals.

If I could travel back in time, the advice that I would give myself is to first try to find out exactly how to use Wix to make a website. Since we don't have a whole lot of time to work on this project currently we are falling behind. Something that could've helped us stay organized and get more work done would of been, making a calendar that would of helped us plan out how much we need to get done everyday from the start. Or even using a website that I currently found called trello. Trello can help me share updates on current ideas so everyone in my group knows what is happening, it also has schedule and lit which could of made our work more efficient and on time.

Few weeks from now I hope to have at least 50 make up items up on our website. I hope at the end of next week to be able to publish our website. Our instagram page announced that hopefully next week we can make our website public and makeup lovers can take advantage of this website. When we first started the website I always had this idea of how the website would look, I continued to carry this vision and I tried my best to make it come true. Our website truly is coming together and it would soon be out, can't wait  to be able to support cruelty free makeup brands.
