Blind Contour Selfie

Image
To do this project I used  a pen on a A3 piece of paper. First I looked at myself in a mirror and tried to copy my face without looking at the pievce of paper. What I learned for this experience was that doing a contour drawing is much harder than what it looks like. Firstly I was tempted to look down at the paper, and secondly I couldn't get the perfect shape of my face that I wanted, but with practice I will start to improve on my contour skills.πŸŽ¨πŸ–Œ✏️πŸ–

Dugong

Connection to Sustainability Goals In the Global Sustainable Development the goal that will help the species of the Dugong is Goal number 14. Some of the targets that will help conserve the Dugong species from becoming extinct include that by 2025 Global Goals is going to put a stop to all kinds of pollution in the sea, this is an important goal for dugongs because if humans keep on polluting the ocean then it can kill the habitat which Dugongs are living in. Secondly in 2020 marine and coastal ecosystem  will be safe, and over fishing will end. This goal could help the future of the Dugongs because the homes of where the dugongs are fishing will be protected and so will their population. Lastly by 2020 Global goals is going to stop any kind of illegal fishing. This goal helps the Dugongs because one of their food resources include crabs and if crab population decreases Dugongs lose food resources. Do to the   Global Goals  and other organizations, the species of Dugo...

Dugong

What can you do to help Dugongs need us so we must speak for them. This species deserves a helping hand and that's why we should all get involved. One way we could all help these animals is by speaking up and letting people know what is happening in the regions were dugongs are suffering. A way to be a helping hand is to go to http://www.savethedugong.org/action.html and take action such as telling the Australian Government what you think they should do to help these amazing creatures. Another thing you could do to help dugongs is to not litter whenever you are in the beach or sailing in the sea. If you all try to clean up after yourself and others then we are going to have a safe environment for us and for the animals that inhabit the sea shores and oceans. We all need to help the dugong species so become a voice for the Dugongs and spread the word and let people know: “It takes nothing away for a human to be kind to an animal” -Joaquin Phoenix-

Dugong

What will happen if they become extinct? People should be concerned about any type of species becoming extinct because this could affect all of us. If Dugongs become extinct it will affect the amount of Biodiversity In the ocean. Dugongs feed on seagrass, and sometimes Dugongs eat crabs and algae. A daily life for a Dugong is mostly eating throughout the day. Seagrass is also a place that serves as a nursery for small fish, shrimp, and many other living creatures in the which can be found in Oceans. "In fact, dugongs actually improve the quality and  quantity of seagrass beds through their grazing activities while eating the grass," said Dr Donna Kwan. Keeping that in mind if Dugongs become extinct it will then affect us because millions of humans have fish as part of their diets and Dugongs are part of a food web; so if they become extinct then food web will become unbalanced. This means many species could increase, and decrease and both actions could have negative or m...

Dugong

Why are Dugongs' Endangered? The worst nightmare for any animal is being killed, threatened, and having a decrease in population. Most of the Dugongs are known to be found in Northern Australian waters mostly between Moreton Bay in the east to Shark Bay in the west. A lot of Dugongs die due to poaching and marine illegal coastal hunting. One of the main reasons dugongs are targeted is because these majestic creatures are very easy to hunt, so this makes the job easier for coastal hunters. They are hunted for their oil, skin, bones, teeth, and their meat. Another reason why dugongs are threatened is because dugongs are losing meadows of sea grass which is their number one food resource. Secondly Coastal pollution is also a big threat that humans are doing and this harms the animals and that's why they are losing their food source. Lastly indigenous hunting and fishing pressures are  also affecting a threat in species population.

Dugong Project

Behavior and Characteristics of a Dugong The Dugongs are amazing creatures which have unique behaviors and characteristics to survive in the sea. Dugongs are found mostly in coastal warm water like the Red sea, Indian Oceans, and the Pacific. They can also be found in the coastal waters from Australia to East Africa. One example of their unique characteristics is that the dugongs have their nostrils at the top of their snout so they breathe air just by reaching their heads up. An advantage that they have is that their nostrils close when they dive down to the water to feed or to swim. This feature allows dugongs to hold their breath for about six minutes before reaching to the surface to breathe. Their snout comes in handy because males use their snout to fight over females when it’s mating season. Females tend to be larger than male dugongs, females use their "sharply down turned snout" which helps them eat on uprooting seagrasses from the sea. Another useful character...

The scientific name of the Dugong is Dugong dugon. I chose this animal because I don't know much about the Dugong, so I would like to get to know more about this wonderful creature and be able to help it increase its population. Something that I would like to know about the Dugong is how many of them are left in the wild, and  what kinds of things can I do to help the Dugong. Cant wait to start my project!!! Plate Tectonics OreosπŸͺ🌎

Image
In science we have been learning about the Plate Tectonics. We did an activity to  represent the Plate Tectonics, for that we used an Oreo. We did this so we could have a  safe visual of what we might see when the Plates move or slid past each other. I  enjoyed this activity because it was a fun way to learn what would actually happen in  real life, if we saw a plate tectonic movement. I especially enjoyed it because we got to  use one of my favorite treated Oreo's.        Each layer of the cookie means a layer of the earth for example the top part of the Oreo is the Crust the (Lithosphere), the white part is the mantle the (Asthenosphere), and the bottom part of the Oreo represented the lower mantel . The Oreo was a good representations of the earth because it had a clear view of the plates and it was a good way to represent a model of the plate boundaries.      When the cookies were...

Plate Tectonics- Grade 6- May 21 2015

We can tell that earth has changed over time and it's still changing becuase of the crustal plates. Earths surface has changed because if we look at a map from the time wear dinosaurs roamed the land we can see that back then all the countinets wear clompt up, but they wear kind of aranged just like the map of today, and you can see that most of the dinosaurs specie wear all in the same area. But now a days becuase of the movement of the tectonic plate back then the countinets moved farther away from eachother, and one thing that will happens is that ther is magma under the earth and when the tectonic plates opened up the magma became rocks. Another thing that happened when the tectonic plates moved over time is that sometimes wen the countinets moved away from eachother then the water level started to rise.

Ancient Greece

For our Ancient Greece unit, I created a PowToon. View it below :)

Islam

For the Beliefs/Religion project, I first thought what religion to do so I chose Islam. First I filled out the " Big Six" plan. After having my information I made my script and recorded it on iMove. I then started my researched about my topic using citelighter. After that step I researched for images for my presentation, I also remembered to cite my sources. I did my final editing for my sources and then it was done. We then listen to all our classmates presentations. Now i am writing on this blog. Don't forget to see my movie:) To view my movie click HERE

A Day in the Life of a Artisan

Read this to know how to make a Voki. You may be wondering what a Voki is its a animation avatar that you can use to make a presentation or you can use it for fun. Know let me tell you how to make a Voki. So Lets gets started. First you will need to create and avatar, you can play around to customize it. Secondly you will need to add a recording and it will lisping what you have recorded the recording can only be 90seconds. Then you are ready to publish.

Ancient Egyptian Gods Presetation

The first thing we did to start our Prezi Mr.Callaway put us in groups. My group was Emilia,Keoni, and me. First we chose our topic and my group chose Ancient Egyptian Gods. We then did the big six a planing process. We then researched out topic and used Citelighter  www.citelighter.com . After that we did our Prezi and then we started our speech. In class we practiced with our groups. Then after practicing it was our day to present and we wear done with our Prezi presentation about Egyptian Gods.
