I have a Voice.

"Im 17 and, I don't think it should have been a high school millionaire or cured an epidemic, to be  worth listening to." ( Kate Simonds).

After looking for 20 minutes for a TED talk, I came across one called I'm 17 by Kate Simonds. Kate Simonds is a 17 years old who stands up for the respect teenagers should get from adults, and how age doesn't  matter because we are all part of society. Kate says that some adult don't have respect for younger people just because we are "teenagers." Adults make us feel like we don't deserve to have control of what learn, and students lose their cite of their education values.

What it means to me?

This TED talked was something that I could really connect to and realized that this problem is bigger than expected. I sometimes feel like I am shut down by adults because I don't have the same brain mentality or because I am too young to understand. When will we realize that thats not true, teens can have the same maturity level, and can understand thing that adults can as well. The difference between a teens and a adults brain is just simply Brain conformity.Kate said that in Studies done by Stanford show that an adults brain takes a more constant path of thinking. On the other hand a younger child/teens mind has a more scattered path, in other words more creative. Kate's idea of worth spreading is that "we need to start building a world of collaboration between adults and students" A world where student can say their ideas and adults will listen to them with respect.

Throughout Kate's Ted talk she didn't use a slide show or visual images. Instead she became the images that the audience wanted to see. Kate spoke clear and with lost of passion for her talk, this is what made it so powerful and understanding. She would communicate to the audience in a desirous voices, as if she had come here to make a stand for her belief. And thats what really makes a powerful TED talk.
