GarageBand
GarageBand is a cool app available on the iPad to make audio (mp3) files, and we used it to create our radio show about Homo Erectus.
Garageband is simple to use. To begin, you open the app by tapping the icon on your homescreen. Once it opens you will be able to create a new “song,” which is what the projects are called on GarageBand. once you click add a new song then a variety of instruments will pop out scroll until you find the one you need. For an example I will use the Audio Recorder click on it and a metronome will pop up. Look for the wrench and then you can see a sign that says Metronom, next to it you will see a blue button with a white circle on it click on the circle and then slide it to the left. If you want to adjust your volume than up on the top there's going to be a small note and next to it a long line with a circle on it move it left for less volume and right for more. You will be Abel to also makes your tracks longer so you can speak for more time, for that go up on to the plus sign on the left under the question mark. Then click on section A and slide the cicel to the right. Then you are ready to record press on the red button that's on the top next to the play and pause buttons press button and you will hear three clicks, when dose are finish you may start talking when you want to finish you click on the pause button located next to the record button. If you want to add music to your recording then you can look on the top you will see a microphone in blue and next to it some lines in a small box click that then you will look up on the top and look for a small loop press on it and then you will have a variation of choices choose the first one instruments, you will get many types of instrument click on one of the for example the percussion you will get a list of some of the songs pick one and click on it lisen to it when you like the song and want to add it to your recording then you see a small blue box with lines going up and down tap that for two counts then put it on the track you want it to be . You can also add sound effects to your voice you will have to go to the top and click on the microphone, you will see different figures like a monster,chickmunk,telephone ect. Click on the one you want and put play to hear your voice. Once you finished then you have a your first GargeBand recording. Now to save click on "your songs" and you have officially saved it to your song.You can also rename it just click on the bottom wear it will say ( my song 1) or two, type in the name you want to call your songs.
